Here are some questions that will hopefully stimulate or contribute to lively discussion about The World is Flat.
1. The concept of the flat world relates to our ability to connect to, compete with, and relate to practically anyone else in the world within a relatively short amount of time. This can be great for collaboration and building productive synergistic connections. As we have seen in recent weeks as the world economy is experiencing a crisis that began with trouble in the U.S. economic system, this connectivity leaves countries vulnerable to one another to varying degrees. What role, if any, does social responsibility play in world markets and why?
2. Do you anticipate a shifting away from the belief that the U.S. is the predominant world power? If not, what country or countries do you think will become the next world power(s) and why?
3. What are your thoughts about finding new and more efficient ways to perform a U.S. worker’s typical workweek? What are some strategies that could save time, money, and other resources including fuel, i.e. telecommuting?
