I like the way you captured the excitement of the Purdue election with the recording on her election night, hoarse voice and all. Perhaps a bit more layering would be interesting. The sequencing across the three vocal tracks is good, but the backgro…

This is a very interesting article and soundcast. I have always been impressed with the Governor mansion. The style is haunting, and for my somewhat ironic. The irony works for me on a number of levels. First, there is the physical irony of this mag…

I completely agree with the theme of your blog. There are very few ways to be able to experience past events in history other than by reading about them. Historical sites like the tunnels of the Underground Railroad give the visitor and unparallel e…

Feeling is the truth

In the article “Getting in touch with Slavery and Freedom” Mark M. Smith quotes Fuller Thomas “Seeing is believing but feelings’ the truth. I grabbed a hold of this idea for a few reason. I truly believe that all five senses are required to completely understand history. We can read in books and gain a magnitude of knowledge but to complete and engrain the knowledge it has to be experienced.
As a child I was able to accompany my grandparents to all kinds of historical sites. Anytime we took a tr… Continue
